An AAM Aadmi is going to be KHAS today but no VIP tantrums, no propagation of VIP culture. When majority of the people join politics to enjoy unlimited privileges Arvind Kejriwal has set an example for others to follow. Though it requires a hell lot of guts to follow this path but hats off to him.
I am not an avid follower of Kejriwal and was apprehensive about his policies since his crusade for Jan Lokpal bill begun but the grit this man has shown is commendable. How he implement his policies regarding water, electricity and other problems of common man is yet to be seen. But he has given a better alternative to the orthodox political system and VIP culture by refusing VIP security and bungalow.
The political parties who had considered AAP a bunch of Amateurs have now learnt that people now don’t want democracy but Participatory democracy involving them in decision making process. The system initiated by AAP like mohalla sabhas, through sms, letters, advertisement etc has its own limitations but till now it has been successful in putting in the mind of common people that he/she is important and that is the USP of AAP. It has got the pulse of its voter by addressing their grievances.
The way AAP contestants have defeated their opponents has shown the amount of discontent simmering in the hearts and minds of people. They want a change in the system, in the working of the government and its officials. The babus must have pulled up their socks by now.  AAP has a long way to go looking into the way Indian political system works or worked till now. It has chosen a difficult path but if they succeed, it will be a paradigm shift in Indian politics. And as Heraclitus has said, “the only thing that is constant is Change”, this seems to be a welcome change.

Thanx..

Bhupinder.
